It’s going to be a ‘mix and mingle’ event with a wine tasting (La Triventa’s FT Chilean Malbec) and chocolate sampling. There will be 8 vendors present who will be selling their wares - 2 fair trade jewelers, a couple of African art/decor dealers, Cambodian silk, Crafts from Bolivia, and a fair trade chocolatier (who makes and sells items like fair trade chocolate truffles!) EWB will also have a table at this event and we’ll be passing out information on our chapter, fair trade swag (buttons, stickers, etc) and signing people up for mailing lists, etc. Dress code is business casual - coat check will be available. We’ll be serving up cheese and crackers to go with our wine and some appetizers - fruits/veggies, dessert plates made with fair trade ingredients! Come do some morally awesome Christmas shopping!

We’ve now confirmed 2 speakers for the event! Mark Abbott from National Office (who was instrumental in getting Fair Trade Vancouver started), who will give a 20 minute talk on the basics of fair trade, and Bruce Morton, the current director of Fair Trade Barrie. Talks will be limited to about 30 minutes.

We’ll also have some awesome raffle prizes up for grabs - including 4 fitness boot camp packages courtesy of Bye Bye Body Fat Boot Camps (valued at $250 each), some chocolate truffles from Boardwalk Chocolates, African art from Nigeria, and a yummy Fair Trade Gift Basket!!

So come out, have a good time, and support fair trade!
